인공지능에 관심 있는 수학자 및 관련 연구자들을 대상으로 최근 주목을 끌고 있는 GNN(Graph Neural Network), Neural ODE, 그리고 Score-based 생 성모델 및 Diffusion 확률모델을 소개하고 관련 연구 정보를 제공하고자 튜토 리얼 워크숍을 개최합니다.

All sessions will be held at National Institute for Mathematical Sciences and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.  

The purpose of the SIAM Activity Group in Algebraic Geometry is to bring together researchers who use algebraic geometry in industrial and applied mathematics. "Algebraic geometry" is interpreted broadly to include at least: algebraic geometry, commutative algebra, noncommutative algebra, symbolic and numeric computation, algebraic and geometric combinatorics, representation theory, and algebraic topology. 

These methods have already seen applications in: biology, coding theory, cryptography, combustion, computational geometry, computer graphics, quantum computing, control theory, geometric design, complexity theory, machine learning, nonlinear partial differential equations, optimization, robotics, and statistics.

We welcome participation from both theoretical mathematical areas and application areas not on this list which fall under this broadly interpreted notion of algebraic geometry and its applications.

SIAM Conference on Applied Algebraic Geometry is a satellite conference of the International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM 2015)

본 학술대회는 계산수학-계산 편미분방정식 분야의 최고수준의 국제적인 연사들을 초빙하여 최신동향을 소개한다.
특히 유한요소법, 유한체적법, 유한차분법, 적응요소법, 최소자승법등의 오차해석, 수렴성, 그리고 실제 계산알고리즘의 개
선을 위한 선형대수 해법등의 심도있는 내용을 발표하고 토론한다.
학술대회를 통하여 유체역학, 탄성역학, 석유공학, 전자기학등 다양한 분야에의 실질적인 응용을 논한다.

본 학술회의에는 동력계 이론과 관련한 연주주제 중에서도 최근에 많이 연구되고 있는 분야인 미분가능동력계(differentiable dynamics)의 정성적 이론연구를 하는 학자들이 많이 참가할 예정이다. 좀 더 구체적으로 연구주제를 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
- Hyperbolicity and partial hyperbolicity
- Global dynamics beyond uniform hyperbolicity
- Topological dynamics, bifurcations
- Ergodic theory, differentiable ergodic theory
1960년대 초에 S. Smale에 의해 소개된 다양체 위에 주어진 미분가능동력계 이론에서 “uniform hyperbolicity를 만족하는 동력계”이론의 연구는 90년대 말까지 매우 잘 발전되었고 이들 이론을 통하여 수학에서의 많은 흥미로운 미해결 문제들이 해결되었다. 2000년대 초 부터는 uniform hyperbolicity를 만족하지 않는 미분가능동력계의 연구: 즉, "global dynamics beyond uniform hyperbolicity" 의 연구가 이루어지기 시작하였고 최근에는 이 분야의 연구가 세계적으로 매우 활발히 연구되고 있는 실정이다.
국제적으로 매우 활발히 연구되고 있는 이 분야 연구 가치와 중요성에 비해 국내에서는 연구인력 및 연구환경이 미약한 실정이다. 이번의 국제학술회의는 2014 Seoul ICM의 위성학회로 충남대학교에서 2014년 8월8일부터 8월12일까지 5일간 개최될 예정으로 이들 분야에서 세계적인 최고 수준의 연구자들의 대거 참석하여 발표할 예정이며 발표내용을 dynamical systems journal 의 special volume으로 만들어 배포할 예정이다.
또한 이를 통하여, 학문 후속세대에 대한 연구 활동을 지원하고 해외석학들 간의 상호 교류를 촉진하려는 목적 또한 포함되어 있다. 보다 효율적인 학술대회가 되도록 노력할 예정이며 국내 학자들에게도 발표기회를 넓힐 예정이다.

이 대회는 제 7회 International Conference on Stochastic Analysis and Its Applications (ICSAA)이며 2013년 8월 6일부터 11일까지 서울대학교 상산 수리 과학관에서 개최될 계획이다.

ICSAA 학술 대회의 주제는 확률 이론과 산학으로의 응용이며, ICSAA 학술 대회의 목표는 이 주제에 대한 연구가들의 최신 이론을 발표와 토론을 통해 서로의 아이디어를 공유함으로써 이 분야에 대한 학문적 발전의 도모에 있다.

좀 더 구체적으로 이야기하면 ICSAA 학술 대회의 주제는 다음과 같이 크게 4가지로 구분된다.

1. (확률과정과 그응용) Stochastic analysis and its applications
2. (마르코프운동, 점프운동, 측도값운동) Markov processes, including jump type processes and measure-valued processes
3. Dirichlet forms
4. (프렉탈과 침투군의 분석) Analysis on fractals and percolation clusters

이들 분야는 서로 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있고 그 산학으로 응용 때문에 최근 아주 활발히 연구되어오고 있다. 이들은 현대 확률론의 뼈대를 이루고 있으며 이 학회는 이 분야의 최신정보를 한데모아 특히 젊은 학자와 학생들과 공유하고자한다.

이 ICSAA 학술 대회는 2006년 여름 미국 워싱턴 주립대학에서 개최된 International Conference on Stochastic Analysis and Its Applications 을 시작으로 현재까지 아래와 같이 개최되었다.

본학회는 2014 Seoul ICM 위성학회 중 하나이며 2014 Seoul ICM 전에 열리는 유일한 확률론 국제학회이다.
80여명의 발표자 (국외 발표자 70명이상) 와 30여명의 일반참가자의 참여를 예상하고 있다. 서울대학교 김판기 교수는 전 세계 확률 이론 교수 중 최고 대가들을 엄선하여 참가와 발표를 요청하는 초대 이메일을 발송하였다. 이 학회 개최는 현재 세계 확률론 학자들의 엄청난 관심을 받고 있다. 그 실례로 초청 이메일을 발송한지 며칠 만에 많은 확률론 학자들로부터 참석 및 발표를 수락하는 답장을 받았다.

최근 분류이론에선 몇가지 주요한 주제들이 연구 중이다. 김병한 교수와 공동 연구자들을 통한 호몰로지 이론의 전개가 상당한 관심의 대상이다. 특히 higher Hurwicz conjecture의 해결에 관한 발표가 이 학술대회를 통해 있으리라 예상하고 그 외의 최근 연구들도 발표가 있을 것이다. Hrushovski, Pillay, Simon 등이 연구하고 있는 Keisler measure도 매우 주요한 주제이다. 이는 NIP theory들을 이해하는 기본 도구로 사용되어 이 연구의 현재 진행사항에 대한 발표가 있을 예정이다. 그 외에도 전통적으로 중요한 안정구조(stable structure)나 단순구조(simple structure)에 대한 연구 및 o-minimality에 관한 연구의 진척도 발표될 것이다. 이런 분야의 발전은 응용으로 이어져 정수론등의 문제 해결에 사용됐는데 이와 관련한 연구성과를 이해하는 강연도 있을 것이다. 이 학술대회를 통해 이 분야의 최근 결과들과 그 응용에 대해 이해할 수 있을 것이고, 상호연구에 대한 접점을 발견하는 기회를 제공할 것이다.

1시간짜리 기조강연 4개와 30분짜리 초청강연 20여개, 그리고 희망하는 참석자중 선별해서 contributed talk을 몇개 들을 수 있는 행사를 목표로 준비하고 있습니다.
